Progressive raised my quotes by 50% just because of VIN mistake

"...I was originally quoted 148.20 a month for a 2014 chevy sonic by Progressive. A few days later I signed up when I got paid and I put in the wrong VIN at the end. When I noticed the mistake I called and corrected it and then they raised my premiums to 232.00 a month. How did it got from 148.20 on the original quote for a 2014 chevy sonic to 232.00 per month after correcting a mistake. They must have thought oh he quoted a saturn sohe dont know what the sonic would be and charged a higher rate..."

Progressive full-coverage does not cover engine fire

"... Long story short: I was driving to work and engine blew and caught on fire on a busy street. I frantically used snow to put out the fire. Fire was gone by the time the cops got there so no fire deparment was needed. My wife has been stressing about this matter for weeks... When your representatives told her over the phone that our car is not covered from an engine fire and would have to pay out of pocket $4000 to repair, she broke down crying..."

Progressive do not get destroyed car towed and do not give us a rental car

"... I don’t understand why it took Progressive so long to contact my daughter, get her destroyed car towed and give her a rental car. The smashed car sat for 3 days in the rain and then a snow storm, so long that the City threatened to tow it. Tow truck companies are on call 24 hours a day. This could have been taken care of the day after the accident! I don’t understand why as soon as the car was towed and they gave us a value, they were ready to cut and send a check even though I told them that I was not accepting the total, and then they expected us to have the rental returned before we even had a chance to start looking or purchase a new vehicle due to the holiday, or before I even had the check in my hand..."

Progressive towed our car to auction yard without our permission

"Once again, progressive is REFUSING to return calls or answer their phones. Their stole out car, had it towed to a auction yard without our permission, and trashed the interior. This car was brand new to us, and in excellent shape. Progressive is without a doubt the worst insurance company out there. BAD FAITH insurance. I highly recommend EVERYONE look into and don't let progressive get away with it..."
